The Abshiedsfeier was the departure party for the Geothe Institute, where we studied German Language for the month of October in 1997, in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

One bike tour too many!

Poor Bill is always getting flats. I just can't convince him that thicker tires with some tread are better.

We had this lovely view while descending into Grenoble, France, on our way to the French Riviera in 1995.

After riding through miles of these crops, being the botanical experts we are, we finally agreed that they must be hops. In case you cannot tell from the photo, these things are 20 or 30 feet tall.

This is the first place we stayed, in Frankfurt, 1995. Quite a tight fit for two people, two bikes and luggage.

Occasionally (like maybe a couple times a day), we lose our way and before we know it, the road has vanished. Then we merrily carry on (sometimes literally with our bikes over our shoulders). 1997.

Bill was very enamored of Churches on our first trip in 1995, so we always stopped to take some pictures and interfere with weddings and funerals.

We do pushups to keep the upper body in balance and as a friendly competition we occasionaly sneak in a few more than the other guy. As you can see, Bill doesn't go down quite enough to call it a real pushup.
